I am an instructional designer at the College of Education (COE) at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Instructional designers work with faculty members to identify what students need to learn so they can design activities, assessments, and media to support learning. My specific role as Advanced Education Technology Coordinator is a bit broader to include training and supporting COE faculty, staff, and students in all things “edtech.” I work closely with new and adjunct faculty who are teaching online or hybrid courses, and I partner with 2 or 3 faculty each semester to work on improving one of their courses. I work with all COE stakeholders on using technology efficiently and effectively in teaching and learning.
